Last week, we published a piece called Too expensive to live, or can’t live if I stay. It’s all about how much of the country, especially rural areas, are experiencing gentrification or the decay of their communities.
We got a lot of comments on that piece, as people shared their experiences with gentrification or decay where they live. It gave us an idea — we’d love to compile people’s experiences about this topic, and show the impact that these problems are having on people across the country.
To that end, we are asking anyone who is interested to fill out this (one question, short) survey about this topic. Have you experienced either rural, urban (or in-between!) gentrification or decay where you live, or have lived? Are neither of those happening where you live? — Why? Please leave a comment via this form telling us where, and what it's like. If you left a comment on the original piece, feel free to fill out the survey — just let us know if you commented before!
FYI, we will be collecting these responses and publishing what we find on Substack and on Instagram. Responses are completely anonymous, and we will have no way to collect your email or name from this form.
Hope to hear from some of you,
